A physician with more than two decades of clinical experience across the United States and China, Dr. Aflatooni brings dual US board certification in internal medicine and nephrology, and is ready to care for expatriates, diplomats and local families alike.
About Dr. Sarmad Aflatooni
Dr. Aflatooni earned his medical degree from the Pennsylvania College of Medicine and completed both his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship training in the United States. He holds active medical licences in multiple US states.
He most recently served as an internal medicine physician at a large acute-care hospital in Seattle, Washington — one of the three renowned acute-care hospitals in that state. He is a US board-certified specialist in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology, with more than 20 years of clinical experience at home and abroad, combining deep familiarity with both US-style healthcare and China’s high-end private medical system.
Dr. Aflatooni provides care for expatriates, diplomats and domestic patients, and consults fluently in English, Mandarin and Persian. He also has extensive medical teaching experience: he previously served as a clinical lecturer at a medical university, leading core courses such as clinical internal medicine and evidence-based medicine, and has long been committed to clinical teaching and talent development.

About the Family Medicine Department
The Family Medicine Department at Qingdao United Family Hospital is committed to providing comprehensive, continuous and personalised health-management services for individuals and families. The department covers the full life-cycle health needs of patients from newborns to older adults, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of common diseases, chronic-disease management, preventive care and health promotion.
Family medicine outpatient services mainly include the diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses such as respiratory infections, digestive problems and allergic conditions; long-term management and follow-up of chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidaemia and thyroid dysfunction; and services such as routine health check-ups, vaccinations, travel-health advice, and women’s health and menopause guidance.
When you or a family member has any everyday health concern or needs ongoing health support, you can book a family medicine appointment. The physician will conduct a comprehensive assessment through detailed consultation and necessary examinations, and provide integrated diagnosis, treatment and health guidance. If you have a check-up report that needs interpretation, or would like evidence-based lifestyle, nutrition and exercise advice, the physician will also provide professional consultation.
