Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital (深圳新风和睦家医院) extends the UFH network into the heart of the Greater Bay Area. The hospital sits in the Futian district of Shenzhen — within an hour of Hong Kong’s Central by high-speed rail — and has been designed from the first day of construction to serve the cross-border patient.

A dedicated front desk for Hong Kong patients

The most distinctive feature of the new Shenzhen campus is its Hong Kong Patient Support Center (港人服务专窗 / Hong Kong Patient Support Counter) — a permanently staffed service window with Cantonese, Mandarin and English support. The counter is set up to:

• Verify Hong Kong & Macau ID and confirm insurance eligibility with major SAR insurers;
• Coordinate direct billing with Hong Kong commercial insurers, including the major international groups;
• Schedule same-week consultations with UFH specialists, with the option of remote follow-up over Zoom or WeChat;
• Assist with cross-border prescriptions that are valid in both Mainland China and the Hong Kong SAR;
• Arrange hospital-to-MTR transfers for HK residents returning the same day.

Inside the new campus

The new hospital was designed around three groups of patients:

1. Hong Kong & Macau residents who want international-standard care in Mainland China at a different price point — especially for maternity, elective surgery and dental work.
2. Expatriate families in Shenzhen who need consistent, English-speaking family medicine, pediatrics and women’s health.
3. International medical travelers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa who are visiting Shenzhen for higher-acuity specialty care.

VIP sea-view maternity suites

The maternity floor is built around one-bedroom suites facing south, with views of the bay. Each 一房一厅阳光海景房 (one-bedroom sea-view suite) includes a king bed, a separate living room, a fully accessible bathroom and a sleeper sofa for a partner or family member to stay overnight. The hospital also provides a full set of newborn consumables in the room on arrival — diapers, pads, clothing, and the everyday essentials — so families can travel light.

On-floor postpartum recovery

Postpartum care is delivered directly on the maternity floor, so mothers do not need to be moved between departments. The hospital’s 产康项目 (postpartum recovery program) includes:

• 按摩 (Therapeutic massage) — delivered by a dedicated ward therapist;
• 水床 (Water bed) for muscle relaxation and post-birth recovery;
• 美发 (Hair care) — a complete in-room hair service so mothers can be presentable for visitors and discharge photos;
• 中药熏蒸 (Traditional Chinese medicine herbal steam) — the most-requested postpartum therapy across Mainland China and Hong Kong, delivered on site by trained TCM staff.

All therapies are optional and scheduled to fit the mother’s rest and feeding times.

Pediatric floors designed around children

The Pediatric Well-Child Clinic (儿童保健科) occupies a dedicated floor with allergy and endocrinology sub-clinics. The space is built to lower children’s anxiety about a visit:

• Hand-painted tree murals in the reception and hallway;
• Children’s-sized furniture and animal-shaped exam chairs;
• A dedicated kids’ play area with hopscotch flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows;
• Stroller-parking bays at every corridor entrance.

How to plan a visit from Hong Kong

For HK patients, the most common pathway is:

1. Call the HK hotline +852 5801 1515 to share your symptoms, history and insurance details.
2. Receive a pre-visit estimate and a recommended specialist appointment (often within 48–72 hours).
3. Cross from Hong Kong via the Futian / Lok Ma Chau / Liantang checkpoints — the hospital is a 5–15 minute taxi ride from any of them.
4. Check in at the main reception or directly at the Hong Kong Patient Support Center for insurance pre-authorization.
5. Follow up remotely via WeChat or the UFH patient portal once you return to Hong Kong.
